- 6 cups milk, heated
- butter
- sugar
- 1/2 cup arborio rice
- 1 tsp vanilla
- 6 tbsp heavy cream
- Melt 2 tbsp of butter in a dutch oven and stir in 2 heaping tablespoons of sugar.
- When bubbly stir in the rice until it is well coated.
- Gradually stir in the milk, 1/2 cup at a time, stirring until it is absorbed between each addition. This will take about 35 minutes.
- Remove from the heat and stir in 3 more tablespoons of sugar, or to taste, the vanilla, and the cream. Stir well.
- Makes 4 servings.
