Mexican Brownies A la Mode

  • 7 oz. dark chocolate, preferably Mexican
  • 1/2 cup butter, cut into pieces
  • 1/2 tsp cinnamon
  • 2/3 cup sugar
  • 1 cup flour
  • 2 eggs
  • 1 tsp vanilla
  • a pinch of salt
  • 1/2 cup blanched, sliced almonds
  • vanilla ice cream
  1. Preheat the oven to 350 F.
  2. Melt the chocolate with the butter in the microwave.
  3. Combine the remaining ingredients and then stir in the chocolate.
  4. Mix well.  Pour into a 9" by 9" square baking pan.
  5. Bake for 20 to 25 minutes.
  6. Cool 15 minutes.
  7. Slice and serve with vanilla ice cream.
