Turtle Brownies

  • 4 oz. unsweetened chocolate
  • 1/2 cup butter
  • 1 1/2 cups sugar
  • 3 eggs
  • 3 tbsp milk
  • 300 g kraft caramels, unwrapped
  • 1 cup flour
  • 1 cup pecans, chopped
  1. Preheat the oven to 350 F.  Grease a 9 by 9 inch pan.
  2. Melt the chocolate and the butter together in a double boiler.  Remove from the heat.
  3. Stir in the sugar, eggs, and 1 tbsp of milk.  Mix in the flour until well blended.
  4. Pour half the batter into the prepared pan.
  5. Microwave the caramels with 2 tbsp of milk for 2 minutes until liquid.  Pour over top of the batter in the pan.
  6. Sprinkle with 3/4 of the pecans.
  7. Spread on the remaining batter and then sprinkle on the pecans.
  8. Bake for 35 minutes.
