Toad in the Hole

  • 1 egg , separated
  • 1/2 cup milk
  • 1/2 cup flour
  • salt and pepper
  • cayenne
  • dijon
  • 6 link pork sausages
  1. Preheat the oven to 400 F.
  2. Beat the egg white until stiff.
  3. Combine the egg yolk, milk, flour, and then season with salt, pepper, and cayenne.
  4. Fry the sausages until cooked.
  5. Pour some of the rendered fat into a pie plate and brush up the sides.
  6. Fold the egg white into the yolk batter.
  7. Arrange the sausages in the pie plate and then pour the batter on top.
  8. Bake for about 30 minutes.  Serve with some dijon.
