Chinese Braised Lettuce

  • 1 small head green leaf lettuce, separated into leaves
  • 2 cups water
  • 2 tsp chicken bouillon
  • 1 tbsp peanut oil
  • 1 tsp soy sauce
  • 1/4 tsp sesame oil
  • salt
  • white pepper
  1. Heat the water with the chicken bouillon until it comes to a boil.
  2. Add the lettuce and blanch 30 seconds.
  3. Drain.
  4. Heat the peanut oil on medium high in a large skillet.
  5. Add the lettuce and saute 1 minute.
  6. Stir in the soy sauce and sesame oil.
  7. Remove from the heat.  Season with salt and white pepper to taste.
