- 1 tbsp canola oil
- 1/2 onion, minced
- 1 lb lean ground beef
- salt
- cracked pepper
- 3 cloves garlic, sliced
- 3 ripe tomatoes, diced
- 1" ginger, minced
- 2 jalapenos, sliced
- 1/2 tsp curry powder
- 1/4 tsp turmeric
- 1/2 tsp cumin
- 1 tsp coriander
- 1 1/2 cup frozen peas
- the juice of 1 lemon
- Heat the oil in a dutch oven. Saute the onion until tender.
- Add the beef and saute until browned. Season with salt and pepper.
- Add the garlic, tomatoes, ginger, and jalapenos. Stir well.
- Stir in the spices and then add the peas. Stir 5 minutes.
- Stir in the lemon juice.
- Season to taste.
- Serve with raita and with bhakharis or puris.
